Night of the Living Fred

fredosaurus:

March 8, 2014. On this night I bring you the inspirational true story of a young woman just looking for love.

She had been lonely too long, her husband killed years ago at a taffy pull gone horribly wrong.

So she did the dating site search. From the big-box meeteries like eHarmony to the more…

So funny!

The Blackstone Valley Art Association (BVAA) is having a show at Hopedale, MA’s Octoberfest this weekend at Bancroft Library. I put these two paintings in the show.

Paintings from Monhegan island, ME. Oil on linen. 10x12.

Got to Boston earlier this week for a couple of plein air studies. The view is from this great park in east Boston.

Pemaquid Lighthouse on a Foggy Day. 8x10. Oil on linen panel.

Painted for my friends Jennifer and Marc Raths. A place they vacation. I’m honored to have been asked to paint this for them.

The Attleboro Art Museum is having a juried show later this month (June, 2013). The theme is “What goes around.” I decided last fall I’d like to enter this show. I chose this historic water wheel in Sudbury, MA as my subject. I did three studies (the bottom three) and then — working from them along with photos I took — painted the full size piece (top). It was a lot of fun and the result is probably one of my best paintings.

I found out a little over a week ago my painting wasn’t accepted into the show. Oh well. It’s the painting I truly enjoy and having a clear goal helped motivate me to stretch my abilities.
